Thank you for donating 15,000 pounds of food and personal care items and $39,000 in support of our food pantry operations!

Right here in the South Hills, people are hungry.

Last year, more than 6,000 people accessed nutritious food from our three food pantries. That’s over 1,000 households struggling to put food on their tables!

Did you know that we have 5x the purchasing power at Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank? That means your financial contributions buy five times the amount of groceries you could purchase at the store!

Over the last few years, we have seen attendance at our three food pantries double. As need increased, you helped us adapt to serve thousands more neighbors facing food insecurity. Now, with inflation affecting the prices of food and fuel, we’ve seen record numbers of South Hills residents turning to us for help.

We’re relying on neighbors like you to help us keep our pantries stocked as these neighbors regain self-sufficiency. Join us for SHIM’s March to Sack Hunger, a dynamic one-month campaign to help local families find hope, put food on the table, and achieve self-sufficiency.
